We feel like we’ve been at an all you can eat buffet for the last month. One week it was my work’s Christmas Party. The following week it was my wife’s. Cookies and snacks are everywhere in the office. Our friends had us over to help decorate, and they made a wonderful dinner. And of course, we had our usual Sunday open door policy with friends to watch football.
Rather than go all out with a big meal on New Year’s Eve, we are making something more substantial than cheese and crackers but less than a full out buffet - sliders. While they may be small in size, they are big in flavor. That won’t be all, though. We’ll have some appetizers stationed around the house. They’re all easy to prepare and packed with flavor.
While that covers the food, everyone will be thirsty. My wife wanted to have a signature drink. To make sure everyone can make it to midnight, we’ve chosen “Old Saint Nick’s Espresso Martinis” served in candy cane dust rimmed glasses. I found this recipe online; you can find the link below. We’ll also have some glasses rimmed with salt and a chili spice mix if people would rather a little spice than sweetness. We’ll also have extras for New Year’s Day - mimosas and Bloody Mary’s.
Hopefully, we won’t be nursing a hangover.
Cheers!
