Sprinkle Your Love: Valentine Treats but Sprinkled with Madness - Sweet Madness, that is!
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. I wouldn’t say it to the guys at the gym or even my co-workers, but anyone who really knows me knows that I’m a hopeless romantic. But I’m not much of a baker so I go to Sweet Madness for help to make all my baked goods look high-end. This time of year, I like to surprise my wife and kids with some baked deliciousness.
I’m going to surprise them by making donuts. That’s right. Donuts. The cool thing about these donuts is that they’re baked and not fried. I usually double up the recipe so there will be a few leftovers after breakfast. There is a vanilla flavored glaze colored light pink, and I top it with some Mini Pink/Red/White Hearts.
Here’s the recipe I plan to use:

I understand donuts might not be your thing. When I just want to say ‘I love you’ with dessert, Sweet Madness’s Valentine confection line makes it easy, whether I’m topping slice and bake sugar cookies, or a cake mix.
Who doesn’t want a cookie with a Kiss, right? When I make drop cookies, I will roll the pre-cooked dough in either red sanding or red crystal sugar to give it seasonal appeal. Both types of sugar give that sweet crunch which plays against the tender sugar cookie.
If I really want to hit it out of the park, I will use the large red hearts as a garnish on the serving platter. There is nothing that says love more than hearts!
Just because it’s Sweet Madness, it doesn’t mean it can’t be a little sassy. For Valentine’s Day, I like to make my wife a Cupid’s Arrow or two. I will rim her glass with red sanding sugar. If all goes well, love will be in the air!
